I hate to set the bar so high because no place is perfect. Oh wait, there is a place that's perfect. It's the Lilley Mansion! We were fortunate enough to come across this elegant bed and breakfast while searching online for a last minute weekend getaway. Our dog shares the same name as this B&B so we took that as a sign that this was our place. We stayed in the Lilley Suite. It was especially beautiful. The bathtub is perfect. I've never left a review about a bathtub. This one is just exceptional in terms of how comfortable it is to soak in. We loved our breakfast and the coffee. Patrick, and everyone we met, were welcoming and fun to chat with. The dining room is so special! We loved the plants and the ambience. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The Lilley Mansion is absolutely delightful in every way!

My *husband* and I got married here this past weekend. I have not a single remotely negative thing to say about The Lilley Mansion and the team of excellent people who work here. The owner and operator, Patrick, is a gift to the lakeshore community. He is a visionary artist and it is evident in everything he touches--from the way he decorated the manse, to the way he plated the food--everything has an artist's touch. Cassie, who really is the engine behind the operations, is one of the best event planners I have ever interacted with. She is cool, calm, collected and an absolutely brilliant problem solver. Together, these two come together and bring to life everything you didn't even realize you wanted or needed at your special event. The rooms are absolutely luxe, and each bathroom is equipped with an amazing soaking tub. All of my 36 guests who attended my intimate wedding could not stop raving about every single detail. I will be forever grateful to Patrick, Cassie and the entire Lilley team for taking such exquisite care of us. We will remember our wedding because it was perfect down to the tiny little details. If you are looking for a unique wedding experience, this is the place to have it!

Where to begin? This home has been beautifully restored and surrounded by lovely landscaping. It was moved from another location, and there's a photo album with pictures of this adventure. The owners have done an amazing job of preserving this historic structure while adding modern comforts. We spent two nights in the gorgeous Cutler Suite where we enjoyed a comfortable king bed with views of the river. The bathroom was equally luxurious (Do Terra bath products, lavender oil and diffuser, Turkish towels and robes). Breakfast both mornings was fresh, delicious and creatively presented-fruit, scones, omelets and coffee. Spring Lake is five minutes north of Grand Haven, 30 minutes from Holland and an hour south of Ludington. It was the perfect quiet place to launch from each morning. Perhaps the best part was the owner/ host/chef -Patrick. In the midst of this elegant space, he was exceptionally kind and made us feel welcome. We cannot wait to return.

I happened upon finding this bed and breakfast by chance. I was looking for a unique place to stay overnight with my husband for his 40th birthday. Everything about this B&B is exquisite! The owners have displayed great attention to detail in every room with the decor and to make you feel as comfortable as possible! We had the good fortune of being in a room overlooking the lake and had stunning views of the sunset. Breakfast was amazing but unfortunately didn't experience the advertised happy hour on their website. I'm sure that would be fantastic too. We hope to stay again soon!
