We stayed at a Rodeway Inn in Grand Rapids that wasn't too bad, but this place was atrocious! It was very dirty, the toilet was super low to the ground, the mini fridge worked but had rust on it, the rug was filthy, the lamps had shades that were broken and full of holes, the bathroom had black in the corners, there were patched holes In the walls, the bed was actually not that bad thankfully. The place just smelled funny and was just very dirty, if we weren't in a pinch for a place to stay, we absolutely would not have stayed here. It did however have a large working ice machine on the premises, which was nice, but the machine was vary dirty! Thankfully we only need ice for our cooler! If you are desperate for a room and don't mind it being dirty, it does have an ok bed!!

G.R.O.S.S. I gave it 2 stars because we were lucky to get a room for one night in this busy beach town. Carpet was so dirty that the soles of my white socks were brown. Bathtub was dirty. "Ice bucket" was a cracked and stained plastic square. Curtains were broken and hanging off the rod at one point. We nicknamed it the Roach Motel and washed all of our clothing to get the mildew-y oder out of them.

This was totally disgusting. The health department needs to be called. The first room had long black hair on the sheets, they were dirty and stained. It smelled like dirty dog. And much more filth than that. I asked for a new room. I got one. This was just as bad. I checked the blankets and sheets. I think they were OK. Just stained terrible. We used Bleach wipes on everything we would touch. And don't sit on the toilet it was caked with crud in the corners of the seat. The tub you could scrap the crud with your finger nail. It looked like diarrhea on the wall. You could hear the person on the floor above us up and down all night coughing, snoring, peeing.and the ceiling would creak all over everytime he walked. Worst experience ever. Sad because 20 years ago it was a nice place.run from this place there was alot more filth than this.

I would give zero stars if I could. We paid for our room on Priceline but couldn't check in unt 11pm. I had to ring the bell 3 times to get checked in before "Bob" came to the front desk. On the second bell ring (which were all 3-4 minutes apart I heard a newborn baby cry. I felt terrible! When bob finally came out I apologized profusely for waking the baby. He was angry, rude and disrespectful. We got to our room and it was disgusting. There was food splattered in the microwave, all over the counters too. It hadn't been vacuumed and I couldn't bring our belongings in without cleaning first. I went to the lobby to ask for cleaning supplies, with my service dog, and I was promptly kicked out because of her. He said he would send housekeeping the following day and didnt. He gave me a box of Kleenex and 2 hand towels to clean. No cleaning products of anything. I used all my towels to clean and my own supplies. The next day i realized housekeeping didn't come so we brought our dirty towels to the lobby, it was locked at 8pm. I waited 2 hours checking every so often until I decided to ring the doorbell. He continued to yell at me for needing clean towels. I apologized and he said "sorry means nothing ". I was pissed. I ended up telling him off and he changed his toon. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DIRTY MOTEL.

Earlier in the day when we learned our flights were delayed we contacted Rodeway Inn. We notified them of our new ~1am landing and that we'd head straight there afterwards. Upon landing, we accepted our rental vehicle and hit the road for the hotel from Gerald Ford airport. We arrived to Rodeway Inn at 2:15am. Both doors to the front office were locked. For 30mins there were no answers to our knocks on the doors, no answers to the doorbell ringing. Nothing. No one was present in the front office, no one was available to check us in. After 30mins of waiting outside in the middle of the night we gave up. We're exhausted. I write this now at 3:45am after having to find another place to stay. The travel company we booked our stay through had reached out to Rodeway Inn for resolution. It was considered an "Urgent Care" matter. Rodeway Inn incorrectly informed the travel company that they were present and available for booking this entire time. They told the travel agency that we were to return to them (Rodeway Inn) and check in because they're ready for us. Rodeway Inn has the audacity to start a "he said, she said" war to avoid a refund for a booking they weren't available for. We did not wish to welcome a terrible middle-of-night experience after a long day of flight delays and airports. We just want to shower and sleep. This back and forth with Rodeway Inn over "you weren't there" and "yes we were" has been exhausting. If they had been there then this review wouldn't exist and we'd have our room. We'd be asleep.

Rodeway Inn is refusing a refund as a result of a booking they weren't available to honor. Complete trash.

This photo was taken from a video as evidence that we arrived, we waited long enough (in case someone has reasonably fallen asleep).

Terrible experience. Hotel booking was confirmed, but then the hotel called 3 times in the span of 12 minutes (calls were missed because I was conversing with someone whose partner had died). The final call was a message saying my reservation had been cancelled. Calls back went unanswered, so I visited the lobby to see if I could rebook only to hear: "We called you" repeatedly from the front desk person. What a bunch of incompetent fools

You get your bang for your buck here.  Included in the room is a King size bed, 2 night stands, a lounger chair, a desk with rolling chair, a dresser with flat screen on it. A mini refrigerator and a small microwave, an ironing board and iron, and a hair dryer.

I found the room to be very clean. The bed is firm, but comfortable. The room is a cream color with an offset of green.

The negatives are very minor: the showers water pressure is only ok, I don't like the layout of bathroom, and it gets a little noisy in the morning. Plus I wish check out was at 12 instead of 11.

Overall I very much enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again! As always I rate apple to apple in comparisons. As a 1 or 2 star Motel, I give Rodeway 4 1/2 stars. After rounding a very positive 4.

Outdated but clean. It was fairly quiet but the staff definitely smoke in the towel room and that's disgusting. The sink wouldn't drain... I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Really a clean motel. All outside entry rooms. First floor rooms allow you to park at your door. Pleasant front desk and staff. They take COVID precautions. Bed was very comfortable. Pillows were good and that is not true at most lower price point motels. Noise would depend on other travelers as walls are thin. Quiet the night we stayed. Pet friendly for a fee. Good parking lot. 1 1/2 miles to the lighthouse. Slept better here than a twice the price motel. Good people running this place. Great price for the money.

The best part about this hotel is the man at the front desk. He is compassionate, caring and you can tell that he loves what he does. This hotel isn't a luxury hotel. It's actually pretty basic, but it is clean, comfortable (this hotel probably has the comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in), close to everything/convenient, well priced and it is run by a family. When you stay here you are treated like family. I always feel like I'm at home when I stay here. There's even a full continental breakfast with a waffle maker. I don't have anything negative to say at all about this hotel. It's great for the price that you pay.
