My sister got a roof after a storm hit our area. She has 2 dormers that always leaked, even when she put in a roof before. However, Mr. Roof put on a roof for her, and those dormers have NOT leaked since. (I know because she always called me to try to plug those holes, and I live on the other side of the state.)

When the job was complete, they had this cool tool that they rolled around her yard that picked up all of the roofing nails. She has an older dog that still likes to play in the yard. So I know that she really appreciated the extra effort they put toward the cleanup when they were done.

Sloppy work. Came home and ran over nails that they left on the ground. Found scraps all over the yard and a piece of my roof in the middle of the yard. I contacted them and they would come out in a couple days or so to go over the yard with a magnet. Brian also said that they will not replace my tire that popped because of the nail.

I was at the Allegan County fair when I walked by your booth and got signed up for the free estimate to re-do my siding. Today was the appointment, and the estimator was a small man by the name of Nick G. He shows up and starts asking questing immediately about the timeframe of when we wanted the work done. He then proceeds to inform me that since BOTH homeowners were not home he could NOT give me an estimate. He said 2x during his speech that he was not trying to sound like an arrogant prick. He did however still end up sounding exactly like an arrogant prick. Im actually really glad he wasted his time to drive all the way out here to Kalamazoo for nothing. I booted him off my yard after less than 5 minutes of his BS, and I'd suggest you send someone with more people skills to do your "estimates" smh

Update: Do not use Mr. Roof for anything! They quoted another $2500 to finish the roof they were supposed to finish initially. I, of course, said no because we had already hired a different contractor. I have no trust in Mr. Roof because of how they treated me. They called about a week later to tell me they would drop materials off to finish the roof. I was confused and confirmed that they would not charge me, and the guy said they were not since it was their mistake. I let them finish the roof....they then promptly sent me a bill when it was finished. I'm very disappointed with Mr. Roof, and it's disgusting how they run the company in Grand Rapids.

The roof is now done, but I feel scammed. I should have gone to arbitration or small claims, but I don't have time or money for their corporate shenanigans. I recommend any roofer over Mr. Roof. No one else could be this bad. I also reviewed Mr. Roof on Google reviews, and it is not showing up after a few weeks of it being up. It makes me wonder if they flag reviews they do not like.

Original post: I would not recommend Mr. Roof. The company did not complete my roof and has been unwilling to resolve it by simply finishing the job. It was a mistake on Mr. Roof's end, and they are reluctant to take responsibility. Instead, they gave me a second quote for the missed section saying it wasn't "part" of the original quote, so I needed to pay extra. I already had the entire roof quoted and signed a contract agreeing to the terms, but they are not honoring it. What is the point of signing a contract if they do not complete the job? I'm not sure if this is something that should be submitted to the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, BBB or if I should get a different contractor.

      Longer version:
I was happy with Mr. Roof until I noticed they still needed to complete my roof. I saw a roof section that had all the old roofing patches, patches, etc. I contacted them about it, and they said they would look into it. They did reach out until I spoke with someone later at their office.
When I finally received a phone call, they confirmed they missed a portion of the roof and would send me another quote to get it done. I asked why I would need another quote to have my roof done when it should have been completed the first time. I already signed a contract with Mr. Roof with the expectation that the entire house and garage roof would be shingled. I was just told sorry mistakes happen and that he can knock a couple of hundred dollars off the second quote. I tried to explain that Mr. Roof should hold up their end of the deal to have my roof completed, but they have not been responsive or seem even to care they messed up. My wife called the Grand Rapids locations office and got a runaround that went nowhere. We are still waiting to hear back on if they'll work with me or have some remediation. I am still unsure how they could miss a whole roof section and just walk away and give me a statement of completion. What would have happened if I did not notice and the roof leaked? Would they have honored their warranty or said they were not responsible for that portion of the roof because they did not shingle it?
I recently called other contractors/roofers to see what they would do in this situation, and they said to keep reaching out to Mr. Roof to complete the job. I am still determining if that will happen based on the lack of response and their attitude on the phone. I may have to call a different company to finish what Mr. Roof did not.

The part of the roof they left unfinished.

We chose Mr Roof to replace our roof because we had a little bit of a leak.
On the plus side, they were fast.

But we found out their speed was because they were doing a shotty job. 1) Many places they didn't overlap the ice & water over seams of the roof and put shingles right on the decking with no protection layer between.
      2) They didn't seal the chimney, and you can see daylight through where the roof meets the chimney from attic.
      3) They replaced the roof vents with ridge vent (ok, industry standard, so that's not bad if done right), BUT they never opened up any of the ridge decking to make the ridge vents function.
      4) They did not put in soffit baffling in the under the decking. So there is no air flow in the attic other than on each end of the house from when built 130 years ago.
      5) As said before, they replaced the old roof because of leaks. Our new Mr Roof roof leaks WORSE now than before we had our roof replaced, and now have damage in our interior.
      Finally:
      6) THEY DESTROYED ALL OF MY FLOWER BEDS AROUND MY HOUSE. By taking no care at all in where they dumped the tear-off waist. An 8 year old bush that was a feature in our wedding and planted by our side door was ready to be a giant record breaker of a chrysanthemum bush this year is now reduced to tiny twigs.

DO NOT Go with Mr Roof if you value your home.

I bought a 16.7 k roof. Just before I had both hips replaced. I Told my sales person and the lead person on the job , I had life time gutter tops on my eves and no one said I had to remove them. The sales person did say. "If they go under the shingles they will have to come off but , they should be ok". The product I had on was leaf filter and was in no way under the shingles and did not need to be removed per leaf filter. Without confirming the situation , They ripped them off and threw them away. The new manager Zach Comer asked why I waited 9 months to call about this. I explained the double hip replacement and dislocated shoulder and that I was 60 yrs old. I was asked why I didn't get up on roof and inspect it? Further , no one mentioned I would need to get up on a "life time warrenty roof" and inspect it. With a "life time warrenty roof it doesn't matter as they were responsible for any issues if they happen. The manager, Zac has not returned my call after promising on 5/19 to get back to me on 5/22 . My sales person David , said " they will make it right" . Hasn't happened yet!
At this point , I can't even get a call back. Seek an attorney before you have them do any work !
I also had a roofing nails in my tire 2xs and they ruined landscape lights and never told me. They hid them!
1 Star is too high for this place.

We had several shingles blow off on March 9 with winds over 70 mph. Our old ones were only rated for 60 mph, so we couldn't replace them under warranty. I see commercials for Mr. Roof all the time so I called for a free estimate. The rep that came out cut pieces of plastic and nailed them over our missing shingles. We rested easier knowing the exposed spots on our roof were covered temporarily. After the rep explained their lifetime warranty we decided to buy Thunderguard shingles with Thundervent waterproof attic vents. That windstorm damaged a lot of other roofs, so we had to wait a few weeks for installation.

We were amazed at how quickly our new Thunderguard shingles were installed. The 7 roofers showed up at 3 pm. They made quick work of tearing off our old shingles and removing our aluminum roof vents. By 7 pm they were finished with the new shingles and polypropylene roof vents. They did a good job cleaning up even trash that blew into our neighbors yard. One of the roofers told me they have never had to repair a Thunderguard roof. You can go cheap and worry about hi winds tearing off shingles. Or pay more for quality shingles rated at 110 mph + winds and are hail resistant. AAA home insurance gave us a discount since these shingles are class 4 hail resistant.

Not happy at all with this company. I knew it wasn't off to a good start when the lead roofer hardly spoke much English. They claim your roof will be done in one day. IT WAS NOT. The first day they left scrap, nails and a blade on the ground. Plus nails on the chimney. My dog could've very easily been injured. I did step on a nail. Chicken wing bones were left in the yard. No respect for the homeowner. The installers didn't clean up after themselves. Disappointed is putting it mildly. Regarding the siding that wasn't done in the timeframe stated either. Plus one trim piece was never replaced to match the siding color as we had requested. I also requested the gutter guards be put in. That took forever for them to get to. All I received was $100 off due to the roof taking longer than one day. THAT NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED HAD I NOT COMPLAINED. I had high hopes for this company and instead of both parties leaving happy I am not. The only thing that stops me from giving them one star is it looks pretty good and I liked the way things were handled with my insurance company.

I was very happy with the appearance of the roof. Mr. Roof was on time and professional. That goes a long way in my book! I know it is more expensive than other companies, but I hope you get what you pay for. I feel that the value in the roofing system makes up for the extra price. After all, Money isn't everything, and I know in 20+ years if the "life time" roof is still working!
