MI Smiles Dental Grand Haven

The MI Smiles team is great. You'll be sure to be welcomed as soon as you set foot through the door. That same welcoming and helpful attitude is demonstrated by the entire staff. Each staff member I've engaged with has been professional, respectful, helpful and efficient in delivering outstanding service. Is it crazy to say I look forward to going to the dentist!?

I'm usually terrified of dentist but I was experiencing unbearable pain. I was a first time patient. Not only were they extremely friendly, there's an amazing calm feel in the office. It's very modern and updated and the dentist himself was also wonderful. I'm so grateful I found this dentist I will be coming here from now on

Yesterday I received my 6 month checkup and cleaning at Mi Smiles in Grand Haven. The quality of the service was exceptional with Eileen as my hygienist. She went beyond the customary service. Due to the heavy snowfall while I was being cleaned and checked, my car became very snow covered. When finished she helped me through the icy parking lot to my car and brushed all the snow off of my windows! What an amazing service!!! What an amazing employee!!!

We love Dr. Scott Knuerk and Office Staff! The service is amazing, fast, professional, and friendly. Everyone is very helpful and even answer questions our children may have at the time of their appointment.

Insurance nightmare - a zero star is a better score. Promised me that they accepted BlueCross/BlueShield-MI insurance and that they were IN-NETWORK with my BCBS Advantage plan. But in reality, they are OUT-OF-NETWORK. BC/BS does not use dental offices as being IN or OUT-OF-NETWORK. Per phone discussions with BC/BS - they require that the actual "dental provider" (dentist) must be IN-NETWORK with your insurance plan. You can find that little fact by visiting the BC/BS website - using their: "find a dentist" and entering your plan name. That little factual detail means that this dental practice (still practicing at insurance claims) expects you to just pay over 50% of your preventive cleaning costs, and yes even 50% of any restoration costs as well. Sort of defeats the reason you even bother to pay for medical/dental insurance! Hey, just pay them out-of-pocket whatever they are too lazy about handling insurance claims properly, and stop your whining. I changed to the better MI Smiles- Grand Haven located at 1203 S Beechtree and surprise - my preventive cleaning costs and restoration work (crowns) are now paid in full as stated in my benefit "coverages" from BC/BS Michigan. There is a lot of confusion on these two offices since the one on Timberview was also previously on Beechtree for many years before moving to their new Tiimberview location. The dental office on Beechtree can actually process insurance correctly. Amazing trivia and insurance coverage handled under the correct rules, does save you large sums of cash. They even turned me over to a collection agency for their errors. They even committed insurance fraud by ineptly trying to correct their insurance error by re-submitting my claim with a different dental provider that I never even met- much looked inside my mouth - unbelievably true!.

Sadly, this is just another pop-up, strip-mall, chain-store Dentist Office that is more interested in upselling (crowns, whitening, Botox, veneers, Invisalign, etc.) than providing actual dental care.

I called in with a tooth-sensitivity issue and was told someone would get back with me at their convenience. Two weeks later, I had not heard back from them so I called in again (my tooth still bothering me). I was put on hold and left there. After awhile, I was disconnected.

I gave them 1 star because at a previous appointment, the hygienist was very nice and provided a very thorough cleaning (although it was so thorough, my teeth ached for 2 weeks afterwards).

So, needless to say, I'm searching for a new dental office.

I was in for an appointment February 16th for a cleaning. Afterward they presented me with estimates for my treatment plan. I have Delta Dental insurance through medicare that became effective on March 1st so I called and asked William if he would please run the estimates again for me that I could get on my next appointment on March 17th. He flat out refused to do it but did say that I could go to another dentist if I wanted to.

We were disappointed that our insurance wasn't abled to be used, got a bill for service that We had to pay out of pocket. This was after my wife confirmed our insurance was accepted with the office folks. Please make sure your individual dentist accepts your insurance, shocked that all the dentist's at MI Smile do not accept Blue Cross. Guess we will need to find a new dentist office.

Being a college student and away from home, it's hard finding new providers who can do a good job, match my needs, and my budget. MI Smiles did all of this and more. I have high dentist anxiety, and I went to them above others because they advertised being able to help make it a more comfortable experience. They did, and I didn't feel judged by my dentist or anyone else in the office for the first time in forever. I was a brand new patient who also was in a lot of pain, I had all four wisdom teeth coming in, they took my pain seriously, got me X-rays, and were sure to explain everything to me as we went along. Overall it was an excellent experience. I will be going back and I highly recommend!

I've been going here for a few years. There have been some changes along the way, including location. They made the transition smooth for me. I love the staff. They always make you feel welcome
