It's gift giving season! Make your special someone (or yourself) a handmade gift. This class will demonstrate best practices for gluing up, cutting, sanding and finishing cutting boards. At the end of the class, you'll be able to take home a usable 9x13 cutting board!

We will meet at Fox Woodwork at 9am. After a brief tour and safety meeting, we'll move on to selecting our wood and designing our cutting boards. Then, we'll glue and clamp them. After that, brunch is on me! Your fully paid class includes breakfast or lunch options at Pine Street Cafe (menu TBD) and a beverage (additional items available for purchase).

When brunch is finished, we'll head back to the shop and work through the process of planing the boards flat, cutting them square, sanding them smooth, applying finish and installing rubber feet.

Be sure to wear work clothes (pants for leg protection) and closed toe shoes. We'll be working in a fully operational shop (which means sawdust!) and using mineral oil to condition the cutting boards (which can be extremely difficult to clean from clothing, take it from the guy who knows).

The class, including brunch, will cost $95. A $50 deposit via Venmo will be required to hold your spot. Fox Woodwork is able to accommodate up to 15 students so spots are limited!

Additional upgrades will be available:
1. Fox Woodwork's own blend of "Board Butter". A maintenance product that is a blend of 100% beeswax and mineral oil: $15
2. Add a juice groove to your cutting board: $30
(to be completed by Fox Woodwork the week following the class)
3. Add a custom engraving. Add a personal message, logo, or favorite saying to your cutting board. All engravings will be designed by Fox Woodwork. A proof will be submitted and once approved, the design will be laser engraved onto the surface of the cutting board. Pricing starts at $50.
4. Custom sized boards. Do you want a larger cutting board? We've made them up to 2'x4'! If you're interested in making a larger board, please contact Fox Woodwork for pricing.
5. Want to make two 9x13 boards in the same class? Add a second board to your learning experience for an additional $65.
