I've only been going here a couple of months since I'm in this area for a while. I have been to other fitness centers and this is definitely one of the nicer ones. Plenty of equipment, and the place is cleaned regularly. Although they do encourage the members to clean up the equipment after they use it, only about half of them actually do....plus many give it a half-ass effort.
Another observation about some of the members, they can sometimes tie up a machine longer than they should. I get it, if you're doing a series of reps, you need to cool down in between sets. That should only be about a minute, but many will take 5-10 minutes between sets. They get caught up in texting or social media. So let's say three sets of reps that should take about 10 minutes, takes them :25-:30 minutes! So the rest of us are left waiting.
Overall though a good club for the money.

Cons:
No swimming pool
No climbing wall
No spin classes or group bootcamps.

Just wanted to say great job. Nick and the staff he was working with at 7pm tonight did a great job dealing with me. Sorry 'staff' I didn't catch any names other than Nick's. I'm a goofy person. Not always easy to take. Dad jokes, etc. But they did a wonderful job. You should be proud of them, and they should be proud of themselves. Again, great job guys. ​

Decided to join Planet Fitness about 3 weeks ago, and I've been coming here about every night. The staff is great.. always available to show you how to use a piece of equipment or answer any questions. There's a lot of them there in the evenings, so it's always super quick to get help if you need it.

I typically stick to the treadmill to get my steps in, and if I'm coming from home, I usually come dressed for the gym and don't have to worry about the locker room. The times I've been in there it's been busy, but it's been super clean.

I've also used the Full Body Workout machine and the hydro massage beds. There's usually a line, but they keep it moving and are good about getting people through as quickly as they can.

Parking can be a bit of an issue, especially in the evenings when everyone is there after work. Still, totally worth the 20 bucks I spend for the black card membership per month.

Clean locker room and gym. Friendly staff. Workout area is spaced out evenly. The black card equipment is clean.

Manager here is not only a really really terrible person but might actually be insane. Planet fitness also takes your $ long after you cancel your membership and then makes it so difficult to dispute a charge that you give up. Terrible experience for me and several of my friends. Guess you get what you pay for. Maybe next time I'll try a gym that doesn't advertise free pizza lol

The absolute worst customer service on the Planet maybe, but not the best and only gym in town. Save your hard earned money and go somewhere else. The rude, intimidating and racist manager they employ certainly doesn't help the situation. The shamed me even though their whole mission statement is a safe and friendly place to work out. Clearly not the case in Grand Haven. Please use a different branch if you must go to the PF brand, but our family will no longer tolerate it. A real shame for our beautiful city!

Love this gym. Clean, great service, great location, for a very reasonable price. So happy they built this gym in my neighborhood after driving to the Muskegon location all last winter. Try the HydroMassage lounger after your workout.

Very clean nice use of space in the old "Starlight Lanes" bowling alley. Great equipment, heated hydromassage tables and recliners, tanning, red light therapy. This place is an oasis by the beach! Great prices. You really have no reason not to love this place. It was a difficult decision to leave my old gym, but this place has so much to offer. My only negative is that I think it is tacky to offer taffy and tootsie rolls by the desk. I mean it's a health club! We are all trying to avoid sweets.

These guys are great! Was in town visiting my brother and needed a gym in a pinch. They got me day passes and I would absolutely join if I didn't live so far away. Awesome facility, new equipment and friendly staff - what more could you ask for?

Loved working out at this gym. Everything is new, organized and immaculate. From the moment I entered, Amanda was so friendly, informative and helpful! They also have all the equipment you could ever need. I forgot my lock and was pleased they also had programmable lockers. Extremely clean locker room. I have nothing but great things to say about this gym. Great place to work out!
