      Mike Rose has been handling our snow removal for several years now, and the best thing I can say about them is that we no longer need to think about that whole aspect of living in Michigan.

      Seriously, it just gets done. And at the right time, too. They aren't coming by to scrape up something that will melt by noon, and they aren't ignoring us when the lake dumps a bunch in just a few hours. They come when you need them, and they know because they all live in the community alongside you.

      Rates are fair, service is great, and again - they take an entire "thing" off of your to-do list. Worth every penny.

      I wanted to share an experience I had with the Mike Rose landscape team. I know that bad news typically travels faster than good, but this example is certainly a great example of the courtesy and professionalism that I witnessed firsthand. I'm a letter carrier in Spring Lake and most certainly can testify to many tight spaces and difficult parking conditions on culdesacs and in several areas in town. I was delivering a route and noticed that a Mike Rose truck/trailer was parked ahead and was blocking the . when one of the crew spotted me coming he deliberately moved the rig as to allow me the access to do my job. Letter carrier contend with trash se, utilities, construction crews, and the general public who oftentimes don't consider the access to the mailboxes. I just wanted to give a big thank you and a shout out to this team as I see them everywhere and never once have they kept me from doing my job.

      This is the first review I have ever posted but I had to so I could share this with anyone considering using this company. I was a customer of Mike Rose for about 15 -20 years using the sprinkling and irrigation part of his business. I never had an issue until recently and found out just how bad their customer service is. They came out for a $75 spring start up and days later I received a bill for $955 with no explanation at all, simply a list of parts and total labor hours. I contacted the office and wanted some detail and the lady who answered the phone did try to figure it out but couldn't. I asked her to have Mike call me back to fill me in on what happened and why it was so much. Over a week passed and I never heard from him. I called again and requested the same thing to which I was told she would let him know. Another week went by so I called again. This time she said she would have to talk with Office Manager first and she would pass it along to Mike if he/she saw fit to do so. Either I was lied to the first two calls or Mike didn't see the need to address anything. A few days later I received the same bill in the mail as the original only there was a note on it saying Mike reviewed it and was ok with it. I couldn't stop laughing, of course he is ok with it but I was not and that is the issue. All I was asking for was detail as to why a $75 start up turned into a $955 event. No one called to ask if it was ok to go beyond the the start up and do additional work. It's good to know Mike was ok with it. The best part is less than two weeks later the system stopped working and I had to hire someone else to come out and get it going. This guy told me not to pay the bill and gave me a list of things Mike's crew had done wrong. On top of all this I am finding parts all over my yard they didn't feel the need to pick up. I see Mike had the time to respond to a review written a few days ago here on Yelp but couldn't find the time to call me back in a month's time. Save yourself the time, trouble and headache (Money too!) and go somewhere else, you'll be glad you did. I would leave zero stars if I could.

      These guys have been very professional every time I've used them. I've had them do everything from the standard snow plowing and leaf clean up to a VERY complicated outdoor staircase. The stairs (90+ steps) were completed about two years ago and I'm still very happy with them. They came up with drawings and the layout for us. We chose Pennsylvania blue stone slabs with river stone borders. It's beautiful! The job was completed on time and within their original estimated budget.

      I would highly recommend these guys!

      Extremely poor service. My dad passed away and we needed help with his sprinkling system. After the first trip, we were told additional parts were needed, and they scheduled another appt., still not working. A different person came back on visit #2, and didn't have the right parts....he removed a union. Charged $178. 3 rd visit, different person came, didn't have the right parts and left for an hour. He put the union back on, still could not get it running. Said he needed to come back. $244. My brother in law went to Menards, bought a controller, and it works fine now! Absolutely the worst ripoff EVER!!!! Tried to call and talk to someone, a woman called me back and was extremely rude...said that the work was done and approved by the homeowner....I was there w my brother in law....it was supposed to be completed after 3 trips!! 4 trips for a sprinkling system??? When I asked her why it's taking this long (the lawn was burned up)...she said she was turning it over to billing, and hung up on me!!!
