Meijer

This is a good location, but it could be better....a lot better.
Some of the pros:
-Great deli service.
-Fresh deli salads.
-A lot of the other locations have switched to prepackaged salads, like
Walmart, not this one, at least not yet.
-Good meat dept. Very friendly and accommodating, if you need
something sliced.
-Self checkout moves rather quickly.

Cons:
-Out of many items.
-Prices are now more expensive than Walmart on all but sale items.
-Too many sale items require quantity purchase to get the sale price.

Hopefully someone from the Meijer supervisor team sees this, as I discovered there is no user-friendly way to leave positive feedback on Meijer.com-
just wanted to say we've had two really standout experiences at this location in the last week and it's extremely refreshing. The young man working the self-checkout on the pharmacy side around 5:00pm (he was wearing a Thanksgiving themed headband) had the loveliest energy and attitude I've encountered in customer service in a really long time. Seriously, a ray of sunshine. He's a credit to your staff and I hope y'all take excellent care of him. Could tell that he loves what he does and he made a point to make our day brighter. That's saying something for working a busy day before the holiday! He could've just as easily been stressed or not taken the time to chat at the register, but he did and it actually made my day much better. Thank you! I'm sorry we didn't catch your name.

Also, the gentleman who was bringing out pickup orders on Black Friday around 4:00 was so quick, friendly and cheerful- much the same as above. We had a huge order and he managed it with a smile and ease. Thank you! Great job guys.

Went to meijer in Grand Haven to shop for groceries. While I was there I tried to return some shoes where the ilet for the shoelace had broken within a few days of buying them. The lady at customer services would not let me return them because I bought them at the Holland Meijer and told me I must return them to the store I bought them at. Unfortunately I di not have the time to drive all the way to Hollend to return them today but will now have to make a special trip to do this. When did this happen. Really walmart does not have this rule. Pretty sad. I have been a regular customer of Meijer for many years and am pretty disappointed in the customer service today. I never write reviews but could not let this one go without saying somthing.

Always fantastic service from the team members, especially Jim Gust team in the order pick up department. Is there is always clean, easy to navigate, has so many different product options and yet manage to keep the price as low as possible. Not to mention some of the best produce in town.

Seemed to be recently renovated and fairly nice inside. But went with the goal of finding a mens bathing suit and despite it being a beach town in August there were barely any bathing suits in the whole store... so maybe skip it if that's what you're looking for

Now they've moved the can return machines even further in the store.
You literally go from one end of the store to the other to return the cans/bottles. They have been out of service from time to time lately.

If you go on Sundays, this place is a madhouse. Getting a small cart is a rarity as they are snatched up so quickly. The guys out in the parking lot whose main job is to retrieve carts are more interested in talking with each other while smoking a cig.
If an item is on sale that week, chance are the shelf where it displayed has already been cleaned out by earlier shoppers. Sure, you could go around to the red phone and call someone to restock the shelf, but why does a customer has to remind the employee to do his/her job?

While the sale prices are pretty low....the day to day items can be found for less across the street at Wal-mart.

I always have loved Meijer stores. Great prices, great people and owned by a great family. But who the heck decided to reorganize this store in 2019?! It's confusing and senseless. Probably the brain child of some designer the thinks everyone shopping there beelines for the kombucha and organic kale. Not most of us. If its not broken, don't fix it!

Great selection of produce but rude and grumpy employees. This seems to be the theme at every place in Grand Haven. Grumpy and miserable employees who act like you are inconveniencing them just by being there.

Terrible, rude, unhelpful employees across the store. Couldn't be bothered to even answer one simple question about where to find an item. Train them better!
