Service was great, they were friendly, helpful and fast. Planning on going back if I have any other issues. They also have a distillery opening on the other side of the building!

I'm genuinely surprised to see the single star reviews for Loose Spokes. I've had nothing but a great experience at this shop and it's the only one I'll go to -- even if it means we pass about 5 other ones on the way. The employees here have always been incredibly attentive, knowledgable, and super friendly.
I bought my current bike based on their recommendation and love it -- absoutely no regrets.
My wife has also had her bike tuned up at the shop and they did an excellent job with it, I was blown away considering the age of the bike.
I'm quite confident the 1 star reviews are an anomaly.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tony S.Grand Rapids, MI01Aug 3, 2023

I love this bike shop, it's really cool and they guys who work there know what they're doing. The price is a little up there but they tell you exactly what you're paying for, and what they're going to do to your bike before they do it.

Love this shop. Jack (owner) and christian the (mechanic) are both very helpful and knowledgeable. I have been to this shop manytimes. I use them for maintenance and upgrades as i slowly customize my gravel bike. They always help me get my bike to the point it works the very best for my needs. Without trying to upsale which is just awesome. There is no way that i could recommend this shop any more than i do.

So excited to try out my new Trek mountain bike from Loose Spokes. Salesman and bike mechanic, Christian, was awesome and so knowledgeable about bikes and bike maintenance.
Met the owner, Jack, and he was so kind. Invited me back to just hang out because it's that kind of place. Love that it's so close to home. Looking forward to joining their Saturday morning bike rides when it gets a bit warmer.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - S P.Grand Haven, MI01Feb 16, 2020
I have not been impressed with this bike shop. We brought 2 antique/old bikes to be restored there. One bike came back with no brakes what so ever and the other bike looked great when we picked it up only to find within 2 months the paint and finish was no longer shiny but dull and full of rust only to find he used a scrubby with Armoral. The bill came to little over $300.
Gave Jack the benefit of doubt and sent my daughter there to purchase a bike. She purchased it and was having some issues with it. Brought it back for some adjustments only to have Jack brush her off. Again, I thought well maybe a bad day - so I went the next season to purchase a bike only to experience Jack being short, impatient and rude, basically wanting to sit and chat with a friend who came to the shop for a visit. Must not need business very bad! Three times and I think I'm done.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kris H.Naperville, IL34Jun 20, 2015
A must visit bike shop. Not your typical shop - very friendly and inclusive. If you're a bike fan, there is a great collection of bikes from the late 1800's through the decades up to the modern bikes they sell. My 16 year old and I enjoyed a tour of the shop with the owner and were invited to their Saturday group ride. It was a blast - all levels welcomed and made to feel at home during the ride. They had a very nice and healthy breakfast buffet for everyone after the ride. Loose Spokes is a gem. We will be back.

I called to see if they had a 22 tooth rear sprocket for my coaster break bike and was told they did. I took the sprocket to them and was told they needed to know what kind of hub it is and could not match the sprocket he was holding in his hand. He then stated a cheaper way to change the ratio is to change the front sprocket. The cost of the front sprocket was around $25 and would require the crank to be removed to do the job. He suggested I bring the bike in and let them do the job because it takes specialized tools. They would charge me $37 to change it out. That's $60+ to change the ratio when a sprocket can be bought for under $10 elsewhere. This was a bate and switch.

My dad had a horrible experience here. After leaving his bike in the shop to have his kickstand replaced, the tech recommended a tune-up. My dad said no thank you, but when he went to pick up his bike it was damaged and not functioning properly. Other than not having a working kickstand, the bike was fine prior to dropping it off at the shop. When my dad asked why the bike wasn't functioning the same, the man responded with, "I told you that you needed a tune up." Jack said he would have it done by the following day. He ended up charging my dad way more than originally quoted and was in the shop for way longer than a week without an update. When my dad questioned his honesty and customer service, Jack got very angry, verbally abusive and threatening. Stay far away from this abusive little man's shop.
