As a followup to my 5/22/23 review. I received my registration and trailer license plate within a day or two of my review on Yelp. That's good. BUT...the vinyl numbers were supposed to be gray, but when I installed them and peeled away the backing, they were black. I called them to let them know, and the person I talked to complained to me about my Yelp review. I told him it's all true and he replied that it was all lies, and that it would hurt their business. No...it's bad service that hurts your business. Now, on 7/7/23, I'm still waiting for my motor manual and motor toolkit. I don't care about the tools that much, but it includes some crush gaskets for doing oil changes and an emergency pull cord/starter. So, I got a PDF manual online, ordered my vinyl numbers from my usual source, got my crush gaskets elsewhere, and if I need any work done on the motor, I'll take it to Van's in Grand Rapids. Hopefully the boat doesn't need any warranty work, as there isn't another dealer nearby, because not sending the manual and the tools seems vindictive.

Blake I am sincerely disappointed in your buying experience as well and apologize for the issues and the confusion. Sometimes a problem just gets out of control and this is a good example. Gaskets are on their way and rest assured that being vindictive is not part of being in business for 60 years. If you need service, we are here to help you. Personal regards to you. May 22, 2023Previous reviewI took delivery on my boat ($30k) a month ago, and still haven't received my registration, the vinyl registration numbers they were having made, the engine manual, and the toolkit for the engine. The temporary registration I received expired two weeks ago. I called them today, and they said they have the registration, but the vinyl letters came in "bad" and had to be reordered. I asked if they are being made locally, and they said yes. If local, then c'mon guys, get them TODAY. The salesman, Gregg, is USELESS. Always seems to be in a hurry, but doesn't get anything done. I'm expected to get things done through Gregg, but after listening to his excuses I tried to talk to the manager, but can't get past their incompetent staff, and it's too far away for me to just stop by. I like my boat, but these people are totally incompetent. If you deal with them, I recommend not believing anything they say, and to have zero expectation they will follow up on anything they say they'll do. Oh, and the things is, for me to be a happy customer all they'd have to do is pay just a little bit of attention to following through on the simple stuff. Very frustrating. Don't know how they've managed to stay in business for 50 years. 30 years ago I bought a pickup shell from them. They said I could wait while they did it, and it almost three hours. When they were done, I noticed that each of the six bolts that held it on had about an inch and a half of washers stacked up under the bolt head, because they didn't have the right size bolts. So, I've dealt with them twice in 30 years, and they've proven to be consistent screw-ups.

Terrible service. Went in February to look at a new boat and take a test drive on the river. Test drive went fine so I put a down payment on the boat and spoke to the salesman about installing a few accessories and add-ons before I would pick the boat up a month later, salesman assured me that everything would get ordered and installed before pickup. So I waited for the month to go by. After not hearing anything I gave them a call a few days before I was to pick the boat up and left a message with the receptionist just to make sure it was going to be ready as I was taking a day off of work to go get it. Nobody called back. Called back and left a message again two days before. Nobody called back. Day before finally talked to somebody important and they had nothing installed on the boat. So I told them I was coming to get the boat the next day and Ill come get all the parts when they arrive. Picked the boat up, and they had the stereo that I wanted installed still in the box not installed. So I brought everything they had received to that point home and installed it myself. I called back a month later because I was going to be in town to see if the rest of the items had been received, same situation left a few messages and nobody returned calls. Was able to get a hold of somebody there when I was in town and they said everything had arrived and due to covid they were only doing curbside pickup. That's fine. Stopped by picked up two big boxes. Got home and only 2 of the 10 parts were there. Called back and they said they were still waiting for the other stuff to arrive and would ship it to my residence when it did. Several Months go by, never hear anything. So I start calling every couple days and leave a message just looking for an update. Salesman finally sends my cell phone a text saying everything arrived and it would ship out that day. Well its been almost three weeks and nothings shown up. Wont ever buy from then again, wouldn't suggest this place to anybody. All I'm looking for is an honest update. Don't tell me everything has arrived if it hasn't, If you're still waiting on it that's fine but they should be calling the supplier to get updates from them. Boat works great but that's probably has something to do with it being brand new.

We were trying to purchase a 25 ft cabin cruiser and went in and agreed on a price of $900 less than sticker with Barry, their salesperson, along with a GPS/Fishfinder installed at cost. We offered to put money down but they wanted to wait until everything was completed. Barry, the salesman, indicated he would send us a copy of the agreement by email. We paid for a boat survey and passed along the few things that needed to be fixed. We did not hear from them past the expected delivery date and called. We received a voicemail that it would not be ready. In speaking with another sales person, none of the parts needed had been ordered yet. We tried to remedy the situation by contacting the owner. We received a return call from the sales manager instead with no further help other than they would work to get it done in the next week. Then the sales person no longer "remembered" that the gps/fishfinder was a part of the arrangement. When he was reminded and finally remembered we went ahead and had them send us an invoice before picking up the boat. The invoice had the price at the sticker price without the gps/fishfinder. I emailed that that was a mistake and received a call from Dennis, the sales manager, stating that they never would have agreed to lower the price. We had never received the email about the agreed price so we have no proof of the agreement. We were now 3 weeks plus into this process and had put about $500 into the survey. We did not, however, feel that such dishonest practices were reasonable and told them that we would walk away. We finally told them that this was not a business practice that we felt was ethical and we are looking for another boat. I don't want others to be tricked into paying more than intended in the future so I am writing this complaint. They may be fine for smaller boats and motors but they do not seem to know what they are doing with the larger ones-so I would definitely recommend not to use them or to at least use extreme caution.
