Event Description: John Kozak's book, a true story written as a tribute to his mother Rose, details how at age 42, in October of 1949, she defied the Czechoslovakian Communists by fleeing into the Bohemian Forest with John and his sister. Headed for the safety of West Germany, she was betrayed by a guide, hunted by tracking dogs, and nearly captured by a Soviet patrol before reaching safety. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the program.
