Event Description: Grand Valley State University instructor and beekeeper Anne Marie Fauvel will create a lot of buzz at SLDL about the importance of honey bees to our daily lives. Fauvel will talk about basic bee biology, examine the harsh challenges for honey bee colonies, and look ahead to see what the future holds. In addition to teaching biology and liberal studies at GVSU, Fauvel maintains her own hives and oversees the apiaries on the GVSU Meijer campus in Holland and the Allendale campus. She also conducts research related to hive monitoring, nutrition and colony health.
