Event Description:
The lighthouse and fog house on the Grand Haven south pier – certainly favorite destinations for many city residents and visitors – but they are much more than simply attractions! The piers and lighthouses feature prominently and significantly in the history, culture and economy of Grand Haven. Join the Friends of the Grand Haven State Park, the Grand Haven State Park/Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Tri-Cities Historical Museum for ‘Home Light: Exploring the Piers and Lighthouses of Grand Haven’, slide presentation and discussion on Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 7:00-8:00PM at the state park Pavilion. All ages are welcome. The event will feature a slide presentation for all, a question and answer session for adults and lighthouse-themed “make it/take it” craft activities for children. Local, lighthouse-related books, available at the state park lending libraries after July 14, will be on display. Light refreshments will be served. Admission to the event is free.This project is funded in part by the Michigan Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. RSVP: info@friendsofghsp.org. RSVP appreciated but not required.

Grand Haven State Park Pavilion Admission to the event is free. A Michigan State Parks/DNR day pass or Passport is required to park inside the park
