Event Description: Journalist and author Amy Haimerl took a big chance two years ago: she and her husband bought a house in Detroit. Her memoir, Detroit Hustle: a memoir of love, life, and home, tells the story of what happened next, from the struggles of financing a house restoration in a town where no one will give you a loan, finding a local bar, connecting with neighbors, and building a new life in a city that many have abandoned. Amy will discuss her journey to making that house a home in Detroit with a Q&A and book signing to follow. Books will be available for purchase from The Bookman.
