Event Description: Area homeowners thinking about installing solar electric energy are encouraged to attend a free informational seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Muskegon Community College. Chuck Ammond, who teaches solar energy at the college, will conduct the seminar in Room 510 from 6-7:30 p.m. The lab is located in the technology building on the main campus. Participants should park in the Stevenson Center lot. “The seminar will help the public understand solar electric, specifically Photovoltaic or PV energy, and become informed consumers,” said Ammond. He will explain the basics of the technology and products, show examples of systems, and discuss the evaluation, design, and installation processes. He will also talk about the economics of solar energy and its alternatives. A question-and-answer period will follow. For more information, call (231) 777-0479.
