Event Description: The 8-week ASL beginner’s class (level 1) will be offered on Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. These classes are designed for parents, neighbors, employees, employers, or friends of a deaf individual, and people who are simply interested in American Sign Language. The class will be led by a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) certified instructor. Students will learn ABCs, numbers, names, family, sentence structures.Students must register for the class through DHHS by September 14. The cost for the class is $85, and the workbooks, which are also used in ASL II and Conversational ASL classes, are $55. Upon successful completion of the ASL I class, students will be given a certificate of completion.
