Event Description: Professional Appreciation Day returns to the Muskegon Community College campus on Friday, April 24, 2015 when participants will be able to choose from nine exciting workshops, hear a dynamic keynote speaker, meet with informative vendors and interact with colleagues. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in MCC’s Stevenson Center. The registration fee is $80 per person. Morning refreshments, a luncheon buffet and door prizes will be provided. Not a typical conference, Professional Appreciation Day allows registrants to select three workshops that fit their own needs and style from the areas of Business, Health/Wellness and Recreation/Personal Development. In addition to the workshops, participants can visit with area vendors and exhibitors and learn what resources are available. This year, participants will have the opportunity to buy products and services directly from vendors. Keynote speaker Chantal McDaniel from Thrift Trick will present “Through the Looking Glass: You can look like a million bucks for a few dollars, but to feel like a million bucks is priceless.” A public relations professional, writer and photographer, McDaniel explores body image and wardrobe. She will offer tips and tricks on how to dress yourself well on a very limited budget, but most importantly, how to love yourself affluently. This presentation will also feature style DIYs and an exclusively thrifted fashion exhibition.
